January 5, 2013: It's finally here! Our shipment of salvage is in - here's what we received: liferings,
ship grates,
charts, keyboxes,
signal flags, country flags and pennant flags, iron fenders,
trunks,
pilot/Jacob’s ladders,
bugles/meagphones, pump & pneumatic foghorns,
barometers,
bells,
clocks,
cargo nets,
lifeboat binnacles,
box compasses,
block pulleys, foxlights.
galvanized oil lanterns.
brass ship’s name/hull plates,
passageway lights, 2
brass telegraphs, 2
brass steering stations (by far the most impressive stations we’ve ever had),
lifeboat oars,
4 bar lights,
running lights,
ship doors, a
signal light,
porthole tables and
portholes.
Salvaged brass ship bells: "John Louis 1954" () and "Majestic 1988" - both stand about 12" tall |

We received a good supply of assorted sized ship grates - these range in the 31" x 31" (give or take) and would make for great coffee table tops, pot racks, headboards or flooring.
|
Lots of great brass ringed block pulleys - put them to use as pulleys, bookends or art! The megaphones are salvaged too - they're great for shouting orders to the deckhands in your family.
|
We received two builder's plates: "Chantiers De France Dunkeroue 1982" and "Namura Shipbuilding Co, LTD, Osaka Japan Aug 1975". |
|
We received some of the largest ship grates ever - the one on the far left is about 4'8" x 5'2" which would make a very nice square (ish) dining room table top. The other largest grate we received measures 8'2" x 3'2" which would be gorgeous as well and probably seat 8 people.
